Changing the Narrative (CTN)
UNLV AMA has partnered with Changing the Narrative to plan the Colors of Unity Diversity 5K on March 9th, 2024. UNLV AMA has also volunteered with the non-profit at Project 150 and various events including scholarship luncheons.
Goal: Our goal is to assist Changing the Narrative in marketing the Colors of Unity Diversity 5K to the Las Vegas community.
Objective: UNLV AMA aims to increase support and awareness for DEI initiatives and help address the importance of diversity in our lives.

Nevada Education of Women’s Leadership (Newl)
UNLV AMA has partnered with the Women’s Research Institute of Nevada’s summer institute Nevada Education of Women’s Leadership (NEWL) in improving their marketing strategy. The NEWL program is a 6-day summer institute providing selected students the opportunity to formally and informally meet with leaders, mentors, and career professionals through panels, lectures and interactive workshops. The program aims to foster long-lasting connections and networks between emerging leaders and community leaders.
Goal: Our goal is to assist in attracting donors to support the cause and fund the program and assist in student applicant recruitment.
Objective: UNLV AMA aims to increase support and awareness for NEWL summer institute and help address issues faced by women in leadership and female demographic.
Child Focus
UNLV AMA has partnered with Child Focus, a subsidiary of St. Jude’s Ranch Children. Child Focus’s mission is to preserve bonds between siblings separated in the foster care system. They offer academic success, leadership, and bonding programs to help children in foster care to heal, grow, and maintain their sibling bonds during this difficult period of their lives.
Goal: Our goal is to participate in volunteer projects hosted by the organization.
Objective: UNLV AMA aims to increase support and awareness for Child Focus and the issues faced by siblings in the foster care system.
Blind Connect
UNLV AMA is continuing a longstanding partnership with BlindConnect. BlindConnect is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to serving those affected by vision loss. Their mission is to provide visually impaired Nevadans opportunities to increase independence, resources for vision services, referrals, peer support, and educational programs.
Goal: Our goal is to organize, sponsor, and manage at least three events designed to increase awareness and support for BlindConnect and the visually impaired community.
Objective: UNLV AMA aims to increase awareness and support for BlindConnect and the issues faced by the visually impaired community.
